Today, Fortnite made an update to the creator guidelines, providing clarity on what is allowed to be included on promotional content.
Rule 1.13 recieved some clarification.
TLDR:
- Creators now must not incorporate elements that mislead players into getting XP gains, in-game items, or Quests.
- Creators also are no longer allowed to use terms such as “AFK,” “XP,” “Coin farm,” or “Coin slide” in their name, description, thumbnail, loading screen text, or lobby background**.
- Creators also may not use images of Fortnite coins or similar coins in your thumbnails and lobby backgrounds.
** It is important to note, creators may still use this terminology inside of their creative maps.
This rule has been added to try to prevent click-bait content in discovery, and to prevent maps that farm playtime. How have the community reacted?
