How to Survive Burn-Outs

CREATIVE TIPS | HOW TO SURVIVE A BURNOUT
If you find yourself knee high in projects and you just can't seem to produce like you use to, you may be nearing a burn-out. This maybe the time where you need to stop and re-focus all of your project priorities. If you ever find yourself here, take a deep breath, it's going to be ok! Treat these incidents like you would when you pull a rubber band. The tension in the band grows, but when released - it will be flying high! Now that experience after it releases can either be good or bad depending on how the situation is handled. The major questions is "What can you do to prevent a bad experience after the tension has built up?"
Well, let's take look at few things that can help!
Here Are Two Tips to Help You Survive a Burnout!
1 | PRIORITIZE BASED UPON SKILL & KNOWLEDGE
If you have a lineup of projects that's wearing you down, then try to prioritize and finish those projects in which you have experience and knowledge in building. This will allow you to finish these projects sooner, and place the others that are causing you issues on the back burner. Once you finished your prioritized project and have placed the other projects on the back burner, give your-self a breather! Don't worry about statistics, don't worry about plays, or anything like that. Give your-self some time to reflect and get rest. Once rested up, you should have a fresh look on things, plus be able to better prioritize projects for the future. Remember to never take on more projects that you can handle, and that it is ok to take a break.
2 | REDUCE AND PACE YOURSELF THROUGH
If you have a project that does not have a urgent deadline, and you feel you are nearing a burn-out, then please consider trying to reduce and pace yourself through the project. Reduce your build time down to 1 hour a day, or maybe once a week. If that is not an option, schedule it so that you are able to pace yourself through the process. Give yourself designated breaks for an hour or more. If you become frustrated, stop and come back to it when you feel you are ok to proceed.
If you have a project in which you do have an urgent deadline, and are beginning to feel the burn, you may want to consider outsourcing the work that you are not able to complete. This of course can cause additional challenges, because it may be hard to find someone to provide the service at the last minute. But it is an option, if the time allows. Just be sure if you go this route, you start to seek outsourcing help early on in the process. If you are able to find some who is dependable and will be able to help you meet your deadline, then you will survive your burnout. The tension will subside and you will be able to fly happy knowing your client's project is completed.
If you are not able to find anyone, then you should ask for an extension and if granted reduce and pace yourself through.
SURVIVING A BURNOUT IS POSSIBLE
I hope this give you some insight on how to survive through a burnout. After you have done so, it is so important that you take a bit of time off for yourself. Take a mini vacation from creating, play games you haven't played in a while, go out with friends, or anything positive that allows you to re-center yourself. You will then see that surviving a burn-out is possible! And putting yourself back in a good, balanced mental state is the most important part to healthy creating!
