During the recent "Creating in Fortnite: Rapid Prototyping" live stream on Twitch, Epic Games unveiled an insightful look into their roadmap for the upcoming quarters. This unveiling has the Fortnite Creative community buzzing with excitement, eagerly anticipating what lies ahead. For those who might have missed out on catching the announcement live, fret not! You can revisit all the groundbreaking moments from the live stream by checking out the VOD: Creating in Fortnite: Rapid Prototyping.
Let’s dive in and dissect just a few things creators can expect in the coming months:
Custom Creator Pages:
In an effort to amplify brand identity within the Fortnite community, creators will soon have the ability to craft their unique pages on Fortnite.com. This not only grants a distinctive URL but also permits the addition of a custom header, bio, social links, and a display of published islands. Plus, creators can pin specific islands to highlight them to their audience.
Persistence Devices in UEFN:
UEFN is slated to introduce the Save Point device. This will empower creators to save and revert player progress, location, resources, and stats on islands. Other devices like the Timer, Tracker, and Switch will also support this feature.
Discover Content Recommender:
To enhance player experience, a new row will be introduced, offering content recommendations based on individual player behavior.
Custom Lobby Backgrounds:
Creators will soon be able to set the scene right from the lobby! The upcoming update will enable custom image uploads via the Creator Portal, setting it as the lobby background when an island is chosen.
Photo Mode:
Capturing the essence of key moments will become more streamlined, allowing creators to design specific photo-capture moments in their islands.
Custom UI Device
An enhancement to the Dynamic UI system is on the horizon, centering on customizable layouts. This update aims to uplift HUD experiences in UEFN.
Verse Performance Improvements
Epic is focusing on refining Verse execution times and optimizing memory usage for smoother gameplay.
Localization Support
To cater to the global Fortnite community, a new feature will be introduced allowing translations for text within islands. This supports multiple languages, enabling a more localized experience for players worldwide.
Discover Square Tiles
An update is coming up to enhance the Discover experience with revamped island tiles.
However, it's essential to keep in mind that these are projected updates, and as always, Epic's roadmap is subject to change based on various factors. For those eager to stay updated on these anticipated features and more, I encourage you to bookmark the Fortnite Creator Roadmap to stay in the loop!
