Time to Say Farewell to Recently Released

RECENTLY RELEASED HAS BEEN RELEASED
On April 5, 2022, at a time when the Discovery tab was just being introduced, Epic introduced a new way for creators to earn more exposure for their work: Recently Released!
A NEW WAY TO HIGHLIGHT RECENT WORKS
Aside from the newly introduced Epics Picks, Recently Released provided a way for creators to highlight their most recent works. Unfortunately as time progressed, it appeared that Recently Released did not operate as Epic initially intended.
THE CREATORS VOICE
Creators from everywhere began to voice their opinions from Twitter to Discord. Take for instance this post by DWDFN on Twitter:
Some creators like Antisocial Ash1 in the Fortnite Creative Discord wondered how some recently released features were able to pass through.
REPORTS BEGAN TO GROW
As reports grew, it caused friction within the community, resulting in a diminished outlook of what Discovery was or could have been.
A lot of creators felt their concerns were not being heard. However, surprisingly on February 3, 2023, Epic finally decided to say farewell to the recently released category.

THE AFTERMATH
The aftermath, amazingly was met with a positive affirmations! With some creators being content and very happy that Epic listened, take for instance this post from Reddish:
And even creators like Kiwi offering positive feedback on how Epic can keep improving Discovery going forward
WHAT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE NOW?
Even though Recently Released is no longer with us, Epic has expressed that there will still be opportunities coming through as changes take place within the next few months. And, that these changes are expected to improve the experience for both creators and players. In the meantime, there are still opportunities for features such as Epic Picks and Discovery.
