Important changes to placement in UEFN.

Earlier this week, epic games announced that they would be moving away from the current XYZ coordinate system and instead use Left-Up-Forward (LUF).
What will the new Axisβs Be?
The New Axisβs Will be
- Left (Previously Y)
- Up (Previously Z)
- Forward (Previously x)
The colours in the editor will also be modified:
- Left will now be red (Previously green)
- Up will now be green (Previously blue)
- Forward will now be blue (Previously red)
Epic says these changes were made to align with industry standards inside 3d tools, who use the LUF system.
What action do I need to take?
No action will need to be taken by you, as your verse code and coordinates in UEFN will automatically update. However, if you are using the /verse.org module transforms, you will need to convert your user defined transforms (from /UnrealEngine.com) to use LUF.
Where does this effect?
This effects:
- UEFN details panel
- UEFN viewport and gizmo
- Verse transform
Epic! These changes will allow further innovation from epic in the future.
