UPDATE V26.00 - PATCH NOTES & NEW ADDITIONS
Welcome!
Let's covering all of the exciting new additions to UEFN and the Creative Toolset in the Chapter 4 Season 4 Update.
Creative & UEFN Changes
In this update, the prefabs and galleries related to The Citadel village have been added to both UEFN & Creative Toolset. Creators now have access to an array of new weapons, including:
- Twin Mag Assault Rifle
- Rocket Ram
- Infiltrator Pump Shotgun
- Scoped Burst SMG
These weapons are sure to be a fantastic addition to your islands! Within the Chest & Ammo gallery, you'll discover a new loot container: the heist bag. There have also been updates to the wildlife spawner, allowing you to turn off the dismantling of animals on your islands (only available with devices 2.0).
The HUD Message device has received an update; see the changes from Epic below:
A full rich-text editor, which you can customize in various ways:
- Specify the color and opacity of the background.
- Determine animations the message plays when displaying or hiding text. This also applies to custom widgets in UEFN.
- Override the Text Style set for specific HUD Message devices. Use the old text styles, the styles from the Popup Dialog device, or the new ones from this update.
- Override the default Text Style by manually setting text color, shadow offset, outline strength, and text size.
- Set the justification of the text.
- Options for screen anchors and alignment of HUD elements, similar to the Popup Dialog device.
In UEFN, a new View Model, Device - Message, has been added. This allows custom widgets to use data from the device to define their content.
Creative Changes
In Creative, a new memory bar indicates which cell on your island consumes the most memory. This feature will prove invaluable when adding devices that impact whole island memory, ensuring you don't exceed the maximum allowance.
UEFN Changes
In UEFN, creators can now leverage Foliage Mode and Landscape Mode to swiftly craft forests and lifelike terrain. With this release, you can expose your assets to verse, making them usable within your verse code – a feature named Asset Reflection. This is available for all new UEFN islands.
