Huge new features have just launched!

Epic have just announced some huge features for the ecosystem.

Content Pre-Checks

From today, whenever you submit a map to discover, epic can let you know about possible rule violations BEFORE the island is moderated. How epic is this! No more waiting hours just to be rejected…

For now, this only acts on promotional content (title, thumbnail, lobby image)… but epic hope to expand it. The AI also primarily targets Rule 1.13 keep it authentic.

If your thumbnail is identified as rule-breaking: you can still submit, but it is highly likely for your island to fail moderation

If your thumbnail is identified as a 1:1 copy of another creators assets, you will be blocked from publishing instantly until the asset is changed. Very similar content however will receive an informational warning.

Loading Screens

If a player does not have a loading screen selected, players will instead see the island thumbnail. In the future, you will be able to upload a custom loading screen!

Starting July 15, island thumbnails will also serve as the default loading screen for creator-made islands without any required action on your end. In a future update, creators will be able to upload a custom image via Creator Portal to use as their island loading screen - stay…

Discover Filtering

Discover filtering removes islands from top discover rows if creators dont address originality warnings. These filtered islands will not appear in the homebar rows (People love, Fan Favorites, Trending), For You, New and Updated. They will however still appear in other rows and via island code searching.
